Before everyone gets on the Obama bandwagon on healthcare reform, it might be wise to examine the problems in the Whitehouse. The government must clean their own house first and quit throwing boulders. We need to eliminate a vast amount of redundant healthcare programs that are devouring the public’s dollars.
Too many programs, too many ill advised decision makers and a runaway government that is going to jam a new healthcare reform program down our throats just like they did with the recent “doomed to go bust” stimulus package. Hopefully, this time around we will stand up and do more than grumble.
Obama and friends aren’t capable enough or knowledgeable enough to purpose or implement any new healthcare reform program. Until the government is downsized extensively and the pork barrel problems are eliminated, our fair-haired politicians need to back off on anymore of their fantasy like reforms.
Just one rather large example of a runaway government would be the “Medicare Program” that is without a doubt mismanaged and out of control. Its financial stability is being totally ruined by a bunch of people on a spending spree!
One of Medicare’s most recent and very costly programs that they are trying to implement is a new bidding process for durable medical equipment companies.
One must understand that: (1) Durable medical equipment results in about 2% of Medicare spending, (2) DME companies have been beaten up over the past few years, because Medicare keeps whittling away at their reimbursement rates, (3) This bidding program had so many flaws our government finally had to insist that it be discontinued for the interim.
In the meantime millions of dollars have been spent on the bidding process that is without merit and endangers our loved ones and is on hold. So once again Americans pay for others ill planned ideas which have cost taxpayers millions of dollars.
Those brilliant pencil pushers in the Medicare office have spent years reducing physician fees – is it any wonder that our young medical students don’t aspire to become a PCP or Primary Care Physician? Home health care, nursing homes, group homes have taken a tremendous hit, because the decision makers at Medicare don’t have a clue how to manage the program. They’re constantly grasping at straws!
One must wonder why or how the Medicare Program lost its stability and strong foundation. Every day is a new day at the Medicare offices, new rules, new laws and total lack of direction. The only thing that group is capable of doing at any given time is spending taxpayers money come hell or high water.
Grab yea ole mouse and research the scam and fraudulent actions of Medicare – it’s your money and mine and we should care! Medicare is out of control, their fraud prevention programs are so very costly and their excessive waste of our monies will sooner or later be the demise of our Medicare Program.
Next time you read statistics on Medicare fraud – ask these questions. How much money is Medicare spending on fraud prevention? Why are inexperience headhunters hired to handle fraud prevention? Who’s minding the shop while you play cowboys and Indians?
At Medicare the right hand doesn’t have a clue what the left hand is doing and you can take that to the bank. We need competent, bottom line medical professionals to get our program back on track – men and women who have the nerve to say “no” to Medicare spending spree.
So when we hear healthcare reform from Obama’s lips, let’s smile and say, “Not until your Whitehouse is downsized and in good working order. Thanks, but no thanks Mr. President. As Always, Annie
