Cash for Clunkers is nothing more than a political smokescreen. The Democrats as usual are deceiving Americans by creating the illusion that this ridiculous program is turning our floundering economy around.
Hopefully, few are going to buy into this political maneuvering, but chances are many will not see the forest for the trees. Even some economists are taking the Obama bait and jumping on his bandwagon.
What is really happening in this Cash for Clunkers mirage? Could it be a repeat of the not too distant mortgage frenzy? Who is really the beneficiaries of the Clunker program, is it the consumers, the banks or the car manufacturers?
Americans beware; (1) You’re paying for this program out of pocket, (2) Many of your fellow citizen who are participating in this will lose their jobs and homes, (3) The car manufacturers will increase production and 6 months down the road they’ll be crying wolf again and standing at our door with their handout, and (4) Americans will be asked to pick up the pieces.
Don’t get too excited when you hear the words “Cash for Clunkers,” because it’s here today and we’ll pay twice for it tomorrow.
If Mr. Obama and friends want to improve our economy, they need to attend to the housing situation and create some jobs that have a long shelf life. The so called mortgage assistance promised to us, turned out to be a farce, which is usual for this group of people.
Millions of home owners that weren’t connected to Freddie or Fannie are as we speak declaring bankruptcy or having their homes foreclosed. It seems that the Obama Administration has a real problem getting their priorities straight. The Cash for Clunkers is a perfect example of this!
